As a Jewellery Designer and maker, as well as an Interdisciplinary Artist, I have a desire to create sculptural objects which people can hold close to them.
I have just compleated the final year of my Art and Design Interdisciplinary degree at Leeds College of Art and Design. In the past few years I have found myself with a strong direction within my practise, subsequently I have embraced my second passion for music. This had led me, to within the past two years, delevoping various ranges of jewellery. However all my work strongly focus on the aspect of re-using otherwise dormant materials.
Some include the use of magnetic tape from music cassettes which is formed into wearable pieces via a heating process. Another range works with paper in many ways. I use both music script and music fanzines to create my work. As part of this range the paper is treated in numerous ways. I enjoy compounding the paper to take it back to a woodlike material as well as embracing its 2D form.
